Growing up in the 80s, they knew the struggles of fitting in all too well. But despite the doubts and uncertainties, they found in each other a source of strength, friendship, and, of course, romance. And let’s not forget their first “baby,” Zeiko, their adorable Labrador who stole their hearts.
After five years of building their relationship, they decided it was time to let their families in on their secret. First, they shared their truth with their sisters, who embraced them with open arms. Then, with a mix of nerves and hope, they came out to their parents. It wasn’t always easy, but with patience and love, their families came around, proving that love truly knows no bounds.
When the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, they faced it head-on, finding strength in each other and their shared dreams. And one of those dreams? Parenthood. With their families’ support, they embarked on the journey of surrogacy and welcomed a son and daughter into their lives in 2021, making their family complete in a way they never imagined.
In 2022, surrounded by their loved ones, they decided to take another big step and tie the knot ceremonially. It was a celebration of their love, their journey, and the family they had built together—a family that defied norms and embraced the true meaning of love and acceptance.
Today, Sougata, Mayank, their children, and their parents live under one roof in Bangalore, a testament to the power of love and the beauty of diversity. Despite the challenges they’ve faced, their story is one of resilience, gratitude, and, above all, love. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.
